Fred O'Day is a sixteen-year-old girl with a killer swing. She lives with her family on the Gila River Indian reservation, and plays on a fancy Phoenix golf course on off-hours. When her golf chops impress her high school coach, he gives her the top spot on the school's all-boy varsity team, ousting a rich boy named Seth. Things get dicey when she's partnered with Ryan, Seth's best friend. Seth isn't impressed by Fred, or her Native American heritage. Meanwhile, Ryan is torn between his friends' prejudices and his developing feelings for Fred, who also struggles to reconcile her loyalty to her friends on the rez and her desire to follow her heart. Can they keep it together long enough to play?
