She published her first book at age 65, the start of the popular Bloodhound series of award-winning mystery novels that feature Jo Beth Sidden, including Blind Bloodhound Justice , Ten Little Bloodhounds , and A Bloodhound to Die For. Lanier died October 27, 2003 in Fargo, Georgia, at age 72.
