Born into a musical Tucson family, Ronstadt and her siblings performed their own music at an early age. Ronstadt arrived in Los Angeles in the mid-'60s, just as the folk rock and country rock movements were beginning to bloom. As part of the coterie of like-minded artists who played at the Troubadour in West Hollywood, she helped define the musical style that dominated American music in the '70s. In Simple Dreams, Ronstadt reveals the journey that led to her long-lasting success, including stories behind many of her beloved songs.
