'Hitler and Mars Bars' giveaway for World Book Day Dianne Ascroft, Hitler and Mars Bars. World Book Day is celebrated in Britain and Ireland on March 5. Since one of the aims of the day is to encourage children to read, on my blog, Ascroft, eh? I will tell you about some books that feature children as the main characters. They are all set in World War II. Some of them are adult books, others are children’s and there’s also some that cross the age barrier.
