Lock is the 5th book in the Hell's Handlers MC: Florida chapter by Lilly Atlas. It's a single-dad romance about addiction, redemption, and acceptance. I suggest reading Jinx before reading this one to have the full story.
Lock's world came falling down around him with the death of his twin sister and being left with her newborn son they were able to save. When he struggles with her death and learning to be a father he turns to the same drugs that killed his sister. In Jinx Lock was given an intervention from the club and went to rehab. Lock fights to be the father he needs to be and to prove himself worthy of his brothers. Brenna is a woman caught up in a bad situation thanks to her no good ex-fiance. He owed money to the club and when he couldn't pay he gave them Brenna. Luckily the club turns out not to be what she thought and they keep her safe instead of using her like she expected. Lock feels an instant connection to her and steps up feeling the need to protect her. When Brenna gets herself in trouble trying to help the club Lock has to save her before it's too late.
I gave this a 4-star rating and a 3-spicy rating. Lock's road to recovery was inspiring and heartwarming. You could feel the struggle he went through every day not to fall back into the numb darkness. Brenna was the perfect woman to be by his side to help remind him why he had to fight and stay strong. The way the club pulled together around him as a family and understood his addiction without holding it against him showed just how much of a family unit they are.

Another story where the h resists the H as much as possible....gets old fast! Not a bad story but could have been a great story if Toni wasn't so hung up on her past mistakes.

Thoughts on top of thoughts, with a side of thoughts, and thoughts for dessert. I know a book is doomed when I can't stand the h! I just can't enjoy reading a story where the h makes the new, good guy in her life pay for ALL of the ex-assholes mistakes.

I have read every Lilly Atlas book that's been released and I have enjoyed each other and Jinx is no different. Jinx is the 4th book in Lilly's Hells Handlers MC: Florida Chapter series. It had everything I'd come to expect from her books. Personable characters, a strong female heroine, and a storyline that could be a reality for some. And we got to read about other members of the club that we've read about before and it was nice to catch up with them.
This book is about Jinx and Harper. Jinx decided when he lost his high school sweetheart and his professional sports opportunity he would never fall for a woman again. He was a hit-it-and-leave-it, type of guy. If they even hinted at being a clinger he wanted nothing to do with them that is until he met Harper and just felt this strong pull towards her. Harper has a lot of understandable issues when it comes to trusting people, especially men. And I don't blame her 1 bit. Her at the time boyfriend betrayed her, she spent 7 years in jail starting at 18, and she's been all alone. When she got out of prison she left home and relocated to Florida and applied for a counseling job. The ladies of the Hells Handlers are opening a woman's shelter and Harper was interviewed to be the counselor. That is how she met Jinx. She tried with everything she had to avoid him and to tell herself she couldn't trust him until she got wrapped up in the club's issues. It doesn't help that since Lock took custody of his nephew when his twin sister died that he's been on a downward spiral causing trouble for himself and the club. Unfortunately, Harper gets caught in the crossfire a couple of times. Jinx vows he will protect her and as he's watching over her they get to know each other more. I commend Harper for the bravery she found inside herself to give life a chance. Not just with Jinx but on everything in life that she missed out on by being put away so young. Does Jinx change his mind and claim her? What are the consequences going to be for Lock? Has Harper finally found the family she's always needed with the Handlers?
I gave this book a 4-star rating and a 4-spicy rating. I loved how this story went. Harper is someone I admire for the strength to actually have a life after getting out instead of stumbling and ending up back inside as most do. Jinx actually stepped up as a man and not just the club manwhore and it made me proud of him. Harper is definitely worth all the effort Jinx is putting into their "friendship." I'm hoping that Lock's book is next because I really need to know what happens to him!
