Fayetteville is fortunate to have so many nationally known authors living in our midst. At Nightbird Books, we've been lucky enough to host Miller Williams, Ellen Gilchrist, Mohja Kahf, Geoffrey Brock, and many, many others. In fact your library would be very impressive if you had attended all our events and collected signed copies of these great books.
Northwest Arkansas also has many excellent published authors who are lesser known, but certainly deserve a chance to be read. At Nightbird Books we have decided to devote the last Saturday morning of each month to these local authors. We will generally try to feature 2 or 3 authors in a similar genre. Each author will spend about 15 minutes reading or introducing their work and then be available for signings and one on one discussions during a coffee and pastry reception. We hope you'll take this opportunity to support and encourage our local writers.
This month join us to welcome Alan Austin, author of The Adagio, and Rowland Stewart, author of The Dilemma. The Adagio is a 1960's style detective novel involving an amateur actor, his newly murdered lover and her husband, and a tampered recording of Barber's Adagio. The Dilemma features a Little Rock doctor, caught up in a military intrigue. (booksense)
