Lynn Austin koesterde altijd al een diep verlangen om te schrijven, maar jarenlang kwam het er niet van. Toen ze naar Canada verhuisde vanwege het werk van haar man, gebruikte ze de lange winters om te gaan schrijven. Tegenwoordig is ze full-time auteur en houdt ze regelmatig lezingen.

Austin is een echt familiemens. Een levendig gesprek tussen Lynn, haar moeder en haar 98-jarige oma over de veranderde rol van de vrouw in de loop der jaren, inspireerde haar tot het schrijven van haar eerste grote roman: Eva’s dochters. Ze is blij verrast met het succes van haar boeken in Nederland, waar al 120.000 exemplaren hun weg naar de lezer vonden.

Lynn Austin woont met haar man Ken in de buurt van Chicago. In haar vrije tijd geniet ze van lezen, wandelen, de concerten van haar man bezoeken en zo veel mogelijk oude ruïnes bekijken.

Lynn Austin is een van de belangrijkste fictie-auteurs van dit moment. Naast contemporain en historisch werk schrijft zij ook bijbelse romans. Haar trilogie over Hizkia wordt nu gevolgd door een tweedelige serie over Manasse.
