This is less a book than a tome of esoteric knowledge; and like any good tome, it will take a long, long time to decipher all the meaning in the strange words and diagrams.

A fairly standard book of anatomical art, geared toward assisting the artist in rendering accurate and lifelike physiognomy. I will say that though the artist is exceptionally skilled at rendering bodies (all in the classical style, with Reubenesque women and men who resemble antique statuary), and at anatomical cross-sections, any time he attempt to render a face in the full flesh, the face is hideous. Just ugly. But the bodies are wonderful, and it is an invaluable resource for determining how the figure should move, how the muscles and bones should work.… (more)
