L. Adams Beck (1862–1931)

British born, Elizabeth Louisa Moresby traveled widely in Asia before settling in Canada in 1919.  She was already 60 before she began publishing her work, but was none the less wrote more than 30 books, both fiction and non-fiction.  She was a Buddhist and a vegetarian, and critical of Western materialism.  She died in Kyoto, Japan.  [from Wikipedia]
