In August 2008, two ramshackle boats, Free Gaza and Liberty, were hiding out somewhere in the Mediterranean, battling mechanical problems and bad weather as they slowly and furtively made their way to Cyprus. This book is an account from those on board, as well as the Palestinians waiting for them in Gaza; a story of determination in the face of overwhelming odds.
William Dienst and David Schermerhorn are co-editors and authors of this book, which is a chronology-anthology of 25 co-authors involved in the Free Gaza Movement's breaching of a 41-year-old Israeli maritime siege of the Gaza Strip. For more information visit freedomsailors.com.
