- Short biography
- Marjorie Bevan (1900-1966) was a British children's author who wrote and published nine school stories for girls. Born in Rickmansworth, Hertfordshire in 1900, she was the daughter of Tom Bevan, a schoolmaster and prolific author of boys' adventure stories, who also published under the pseudonym Walter Bamfylde. In 1936 she married civil servant William Henry Bennetton, with whom she had one son. The couple lived in New Milton, Hampshire, except when Bennetton was posted to Eritrea and Singapore in the 1950s. Bevan died in New Milton in 1966.
