Then don’t miss out on BookFest, a free, local festival featuring a variety of exciting activities, lectures and entertainment for the entire family. Liz Lipke, Library Associate at the C. Burr Artz Public Library, says “that BookFest is incredible event, providing both free entertainment and educational programs. This year we have a ‘superhero’ theme, promoting the everyday hero to the fantasy heroes of comic books. In the past, we have focused on adult aged programs, from meeting authors to poetry workshops; however, this year, we are focusing on family friendly events which helps promote literacy at an early age, while also providing informational programs for all ages to enjoy.” BookFest happens only once a year, so mark your calendars and get set to have a supercharged day of free, family activities all around Frederick County!
