Audrey Walz wrote her crime novels under the pseudonym, Francis Bonnamy. He is a character in the books, having a similar role to Dr John Watson in the Sherlock Holmes stories in relation to the detective hero, Peter Ulney Shane. The back cover of the Penguin editions gives an extensive, spoof Who's Who entry for Francis.
