Jack Bowen teaches philosophy at Menlo School in Atherton, California, and serves as senior lecturer for the Great Books Program at Stanford University. He graduated with honors from Stanford University and earned a Master's in philosophy from Cal State, Long Beach, graduating summa cum laude. He is featured in the documentary The Nature of Existence, along with Richard Dawkins, Leonard Suskind, and many other renowned philosophers and scientists who try to answer life's big questions.

In his spare time, he also coaches water polo at Menlo. He and his wife, Jessica, live in Northern California with their cats, Plato and Patches, and their dog, Chewbacca. [from If You Can Read This (2010)]
