The 1st Annual Black Authors Literary Festival was held on November 14, 2009 in historic Richmond Virginia, nick named 'The River City' because the beautiful, James River flows through it. Our first event hosted 12 authors from 8 different states across the United States with various genres from Christian to poetry to romance to children's stories. Through the different types of literature presented during the festival our authors showcased a miriade of talent. The event was held at Precious Memories Reading and Collectibles 3229 Idlewood Ave. Richmond, Virginia. Our 2nd Annual Authors Literary Festival was held on November 13, 2010 at the beautiful Hotel Sierra at The Short Pump Town Center in Westen Henrico County Virginia. We hosted a total of 20 author and non-author vendors combined. In the evening we returned for a Black and White Event where Joyce Dungee Proctor was our Keynote Speaker. Joyce spoke to us on how to Take The Limits Off. Our 3rd Annual Authors Literary Festival was once again held at the beautiful Hotel Sierra. This year proved to be even more successful than the previous two. We had a total of 30 authors on hand for the crowd's literary pleasure. We also held our First Annual Dinner With a Cover Model auction and raised money to donate to The American Cancer Society for Ovarian Cancer research. As we prepare for 2012, we have already been contacted by authors to become a part of next fall. If you missed this year, not to worry. We'll be back on November 2nd and 3rd, 2012 for an even more exciting time! See you then! Ciao! (loretta.r.walls)
