Jessica Brody has 3 upcoming events. Fierce Reads Tour with Anna Banks, Leigh Bardugo, Jessica Brody, Emmy Laybourne, and Gennifer Albin -- Gables Anna Banks grew up in a small town called Niceville (yes, really). She now lives in Crestview, Florida, with her husband and their daughter. Anna’s first novel, Of Poseidon, was a Macmillan Fierce Reads title, and the follow up -- Of Triton -- infuses Emma and Galen’s points of view humor, intrigue, and waves of romance. Leigh Bardugo was born in Jerusalem, gew up in Los Angeles, and graduated from Yale University. These days, she hides out in Hollywood, where she indulges her fondness for glamour, ghouls, and costuming in her other life as a makeup artist in Hollywood. She can occasionally be heard singing with her band, Captain Automatic. Siege and Storm is the sequel to her first novel, Shadow and Bone, a New York Times bestseller. Jessica Brody is the author of 52 Reasons to Hate My Father, My Life Undecided, and The Karma Club. Sometimes she wishes her memories could be erased so she could reread all her favorite books for the first time. Unremembered is a compelling and suspenseful new sci-fi series, set in a world where science knows no boundaries, memories are manipulated, and true love can never be forgotten. Emmy Laybourne is a novelist, teacher, and former character actress. Before her life as an author, Emmy performed original comedy on Comedy Central, MTV, and VH1; and acted in the movies Superstar, The In-Laws, and Nancy Drew, among others. Nowadays, Emmy loves working on the Monument 14 trilogy, and lives outside New York City with her husband, two kids, and a flock of six nifty chickens. Gennifer Albin holds a Masters degree in English Literature from the University of Missouri. A recovering academic, she turned to writing her own books. Gennifer can be found in coffee shops, dreaming up new worlds. Her debut novel, Crewel, was written for NaNo 2010.

Fierce Reads Author Tour Venue: Ethical Society of St. Louis We're hosting FIVE young adult authors for the Fierce Reads Tour! From exciting debut novels to highly anticipated sequels, these authors show off the paranormal, the horror, the humor, the future, the action, and the not-so-ordinary lives of their heroes and heroines. Lish McBride presents Necromancing the Stone, the sequel to her quirky urban fantasy, Hold Me Closer, Necromancer, further unveiling the life of up-and-coming necromancer Sam LaCroix. Ann Aguirre ramps up the action and horror with Outpost, the sequel to Enclave, set in a post-apocalyptic future in which most of civilization has migrated to underground enclaves. In alternating chapters, Elizabeth Fama tells the story of the mermaid Syrenka's love in 1872 that leads to a series of horrific murders, and present-day Hester's encounter with a ghost that reveals her connection to the murders and to Syrenka in Monstrous Beauty. Fierce Reads Tour in San Diego Mysterious Galaxy is proud to welcome the Fierce Reads author tour to San Diego. School’s out for summer, so what better time for a visit from a troupe of young adult debut authors with Fierce Reads? Kate and Bunny are particular fans of Marissa Meyer’s Cinder, a Cinderella story with “cyborgs, lunars, deadly plagues and threatening war.” (See Bunny’s review here.)
Anna Banks’s Of Poseidon is a novel about a teenage girl who learns she has the gift Of Poseidon and can communicate with fish—and gorgeous mermen – perfect for a coastal city like San Diego.
See Maryelizabeth’s review here of make-up artist and author Leigh Bardugo’s Shadow and Bone, a dark fantasy with elements of Russian mythology.
Jennifer Bosworth’s Struck includes an earthquake-devastated Los Angeles, doomsday cults, a teenage lightning addict, the importance of individuality, and the end of the world.
With four novels to her name, and a fifth, 52 Reason to Hate My Father, on the way, Jessica Brody is the voice of experience in the group. Her novels for teens are The Karma Club, and My Life Undecided, which deal with the difficulties of life sans paranormal elements.
Monument 14 received a starred review from Publishers Weekly, stating, “Actress/screenwriter Emmy Laybourne’s debut ably turns what could have been yet another postapocalyptic YA novel into a tense, claustrophobic, and fast-paced thriller.”
More information about the Fierce Reads authors may be found on their Facebook page here.
And their very short musical book trailer is here.
Leigh Bardugo is also signing in Redondo Beach on June 28th.
