Born in Cairo, Egypt, Elizabeth Burton lives and writes in England in a small sixteenth century Cotswold farm house. Most of her early years were spent in Canada, where she was first a reporter for the Windsor Daily Star (now their special correspondent in England), and then a program director for a local radio station. She came to England shortly before the war and worked in radio and ilm advertising when she was not absorbed with writing. Miss Burton published six novels, five under a pseudonym. Her special interests include history, houses, and furniture, all of which she has applied with great skill to this lively study of her Elizabethan ancestors.
