Short biography
Rafaello Busoni is one of the best known artists in the junior book field. The son of the Italian composer Ferrucio Busoni, he received his art training in Switzerland. He then worked in Paris and Berlin, where he made his reputation as an illustrator. In 1939, he made his way to the United States; here he won his first prize in a Limited Editions Club competition. In addition to his work as an illustrator, Mr. Busoni has also written several books. [from A Gift for Genghis Khan (1961)]
