Remunda Cadoux was born in New York City and graduated from Barnard College. She taught French and Spanish in the New York public schools from 1933 to her retirement in 1967. She wrote more than 20 textbooks on the two languages for both high school and college students. She also wrote a series of television training films for French teachers. In 1967, she was named an officer and Chevalier of L'Ordre des Palmes Academiques by the French Government.
