Piero Calamandrei è stato un giornalista, giurista, politico e docente universitario italiano. Partigiano e poi membro della Consulta Nazionale e dell'Assemblea Costituente in rappresentanza del Partito d'Azione. Partecipò attivamente ai lavori parlamentari come componente della Giunta delle elezioni della commissione d'inchiesta e della Commissione per la Costituzione italiana. I suoi interventi nei dibattiti dell'assemblea ebbero larga risonanza: specialmente i suoi discorsi sul piano generale della Costituzione, sui Patti lateranensi, sulla indissolubilità del matrimonio, sul potere giudiziario. Accademico dei Lincei.
