Christopher Cardozo is acknowledged as the world's leading authority on Edward S. Curtis. He is the author of five previous titles on Curtis and has curated, lectured on, and written about his work for nearly three decades. He is editor and a contributor to Sacred Legacy: Edward S. Curtis and the North American Indian, a catalog of a 2000 exhibit of photographs from his collection Cardozo was trained as both a lawyer and a photographer and his own photographs of Native peoples have been widely exhibited. He lives in Minneapolis, Minnesota and Aspen, Colorado and owns a gallery in Aspen specializing in the work of Edward S. Curtis.
