The Written in the Mitten tour is here! Michigan-based young-adult authors Lara Zielin (Donut Days, The Implosion of Aggie Winchester, The Waiting Sky), Aimee Carter, (The Goddess Test, The Goddess Hunt, Goddess Interrupted), Carrie Harris (Bad Taste in Boys, Bad Hair Day), Courtney Allison Moulton (the Angelfire trilogy), Tess Grant (Trajectories, the Kitty Irish series), and Merrie Haskell (The Princess Curse) will be hanging out at 826 Michigan (115 East Liberty Street in Ann Arbor) on Friday, August 17 from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. talking about how to turn your passion for writing into a career. Afterwards, there will be a reception with food and drinks so everyone can hang out and ask questions, eat pizza, and get books signed. This event is free and open to the public, and is especially suited for teens and families.

Nicola's Books will be at this event to sell books for the authors.

Aimée Carter was born and raised in Michigan, where she currently resides. She started writing fan fiction at eleven, began her first original story four years later, and hasn’t stopped writing since. Her first novel for young adults, The Goddess Test, will be published by Harlequin Teen in May 2011. The sequel, Goddess Interrupted, will follow in February 2012. I'm really not very interesting at all. I attended the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor and received a degree in Screen Arts and Cultures (a fancy way of saying I was forced to watch a lot of old movies) with a subconcentration in Screenwriting. I write. I watch a lot of new movies. Read a lot of books. Tweet too much. Love dogs and have two spoiled Papillons.
