Ally Carter Signs in Redondo Beach Is it any wonder Ally Carter chose to write mysteries? Her own life is as much of a mystery as any of her novels. Growing up in Oklahoma as the daughter of a farmer and a rancher, Ally may have spent her early years tending to the cows and chickens…but there’s no proof of that. Growing up on a farm may have led to Ally to work in the agricultural industry before penning her first novel… but that might be top secret information. What can we tell you about Ally Carter? Her books have been published in over twenty countries. Perfect scoundrels is the third book in Ally’s Heist Society Series… if her name even is Ally. We could tell you, but then…well, you know the drill.
Appearing with Gail Carriger.

Ally Carter Ally Carter will sign and discuss the newest Heist Society book, Perfect scoundrels (Hyperion; $17.99) Ally Carter was born and raised in Oklahoma. Her mother was a teacher and her father a farmer and rancher. She has one older sister. In high school, she was very active in a number of student organizations and graduated as co-valedictorian of my senior class. Carter then attended Oklahoma State University and Cornell University and worked for several years in the agricultural industry before writing full-time.
Her first novel, Cheating at Solitaire (Berkley) was published in 2005. She followed that up with my first novel for young adults, I’d Tell You I Love You but Then I’d Have to Kill You (Disney-Hyperion) in April 2006. In the fall of that year she published the sequel to Solitaire, Learning to Play Gin. There are no more plans for future books in that series at this time.
Carter's books have been published in more than twenty countries and have appeared on best-seller lists from the New York Times, USA Today, the Wall Street Journal, Barnes and Noble, IndieBound, and Bookscan.
She now lives in Oklahoma and works as a full-time writer.

Ally Carter About the Author: Ally Carter is the New York Times best-selling author of the five books in the Gallagher Girls series: I’d Tell You I Love You, But Then I’d Have to Kill You; Cross My Heart and Hope to Spy; Don't Judge a Girl by her Cover; Only the Good Spy Young; and Out of Sight, Out of Time; as well as Heist Society and its sequel Uncommon criminals. Ally lives in Oklahoma where she is hard at work on her next novel. Book: Katarina Bishop and W.W. Hale the fifth were born to lead completely different lives: Kat comes from a long, proud line of loveable criminal masterminds, while Hale is the scion of one of the most seemingly perfect dynasties in the world. If their families have one thing in common, it’s that they both know how to stay under the radar while getting—or stealing—whatever they want. No matter the risk, the Bishops can always be counted on, but in Hale’s family, all bets are off when money is on the line. When Hale unexpectedly inherits his grandmother’s billion dollar corporation, he quickly learns that there’s no place for Kat and their old heists in his new role. But Kat won’t let him go that easily, especially after she gets tipped off that his grandmother’s will might have been altered in an elaborate con to steal the company’s fortune. So instead of being the heir—this time, Hale might be the mark. Forced to keep a level head as she and her crew fight for one of their own, Kat comes up with an ambitious and far-reaching plan that only the Bishop family would dare attempt. To pull it off, Kat is prepared to do the impossible, but first, she has to decide if she’s willing to save her boyfriend’s company if it means losing the boy.
