I really like the author's clever use of history and mythology in the third installment of Eli Arnold and the Keys to Forever.The blending of those elements into the main character's journey works well and makes the tale entertaining.

Eli is a brave, somewhat sarcastic, but funny hero who sometimes gets sidetracked by his brilliant mind. Thankfully, he has a group of friends keeping him grounded as the adventure to find the keys continues. I found it a hoot that some of those friends in this book include famous Renaissance artists and thinkers.

This book is geared more toward middle readers, but this old guy enjoyed the story and can't wait for the next book in the series. Good job, Mr. Carter!… (more)
