Short biography
Jinsie K. S. Chun, daughter of a Shanghai merchant, attended colleges in the United States and received her master's degree at New York University before returning to Shanghai to marry Hong Cha Chun, teach in National Central University, and raise two sons. During World War II the Chun family wnet to Washington, where Mr. Chun worked for the Chinese government for four years. After the Revolution they left Shanghai again, joined their boys, who had stayed in the US to study, and made a new start in America, where Mrs. Chun eventually found employment in the Santa Montica Public Library. She says she had been "dabbling at writing" for many years before applying herself to a full-length novel.
