...I think the reference to "OOC" is almost certainly to the Manx writer Orville Owen Conor, whose work Lovecraft unsuccessfully championed. Today he is remembered primarily for the quasi-Machenian prototype for Cujo, "The Terrier". However, the more adventurous might want to check out the truly weird tribute he wrote at Llan-y-fraen to his Welsh great-great-grandfather, "Adnofio Two Boyos".
