Eugene H. Cordes

This would have been a great book to read when I was still in my last job—that's when I bought it, but it ended up sitting on my shelves for five years, unread—but the experience in that job certainly gave some further depth for this book. The author, a chemist by training with years of academic research, then worked in pharmaceutical companies in drug discovery. This book provides a couple of introductory chapters to the concepts used in the chapters to come, which tell stories of seven drug discovery and development projects—six led to marketable products, one was abandoned at a fairly late stage.
