Seán Cronin (1920-2011) was an Irish journalist and author. During World War Two he was an Officer in the Irish Army and later joined the Irish Republican Army (IRA) for whom he would also act as Chief of Staff. He was jailed for these activities and then broke with the organisation. Later in the US he worked as a journalist with the Irish Times newspaper as its Washington correspondent.
