An advocate as well as a Chartered Accountant (S.A.), Beric has 24 years of experience and specialises in the area of tax law.
Regularly quoted in the press, Beric comments on tax issues and is the author of many articles such as the “Tax Bites” column in Business Day (2008 to date); the column “Dear SARS” in Accountancy SA (2006 to 2008), the University of Cape Town’s law journal, Acta Juridica (2002); “The Fiscal File” (co-authored 2004 to 2007) and was the 1999 South African reporter for the International Fiscal Association.
Beric is a member of the editorial panel of The South African Institute of Chartered Accountants’ (SAICA) tax publication, Integritax (2003 to date) and chaired the National Tax Committee of SAICA from 1999 to 2002. He also sits on the technical committee of the South African Institute of Tax Practitioners (2008 to date) and is the former Vice-Chair of the South African Chamber of Business Taxation Committee (1997 to 1998).
An experienced conference speaker, Beric has spoken at international conferences (Geneva 2007/2009) as well as many local conferences and venues, including the key-note address at one of the University of the Witwatersrand’s Faculty of Commerce Law and Management graduation ceremonies in 2009. Beric is also an occasional lecturer at the University of the Witwatersrand and at the University of South Africa (UNISA.)
