Short biography
Polly Curren was born October 2, 1917 in Boston, Massachusetts. Her "ambition was to work with children--to teach them--to play with them--to entertain them." As a child, she attended the Russell School of Expression and Literature in Boston. Because of this experience, Curren opened the School of Expression for Children. She was the author of more than twenty-three books. Her first, The Little Red Caboose that Ran Away, was published in 1950. She married George S. Fedosiuk, a civil engineer, in 1941, and they had one son, Donald.
