Diana de Marly is an art historian specializing in costume analysis. A graduate of Lady Margaret Hall in the University of Oxford, of the Central School of Art in the University of London, she has been a theatre costume designer, lecturer and travelling research fellow. She has published articles on dress in art in such journals as The Burlington Magazine, Antiquaries' Journal, Waffen and Kostumkunde and The Connoisseur. [from Costume on the Stage 1600-1940 (1982)]
