'The Waiting Game' is a twisty, well paced story with a damaged but so courageous heroine - Brooke and a sexy, guilt ridden hero - Cam. Hooked from the first chapter I read this book in a couple of hours.
The stalker element in this story is menacing. The author conveys Brooke's horrific experiences cleverly without resorting to descriptions of gratuitous violence. Sharing Brooke's point of view brings the fear and lack of control she experiences vividly to life. The plot has lots of twists and a few nasty surprises for Brooke and Cam.
Cam's need for control is a symptom of his guilt complex which proves an almost insurmountable barrier for Brooke to climb. The chemistry between the couple as Cam refuses to let his passion override his duty is sizzling. The emotional bond between the couple is tangible they so deserve their happy ending but will they get it?
Well written secondary characters enhance the story's realistic edge. I would love to read Ellie and Alex's stories.
The balance of romance and suspense in 'The Waiting Game' makes it an enthralling read.

'The Love List' is a story of contrasts; humour and sadness, business and pleasure, passion and hatred all interwoven to produce a lovely romantic story with a contemporary edge.

Nora King's life is the family company she now runs. It takes all her time and occupies all her thoughts, conveniently allowing her to park her grief for the loss of her father at the bottom of her to do list. The only non business luxury she allows herself is shoes and one particular pair walk her into romance with the larger than life Ethan who takes his role as trouble shooter both in his business and personal life very seriously.

Nora is a witty, geeky woman who hides behind her business attire to avoid emotional upheaval. Her feminine obsession with shoes is the only snippet of the true Nora she allows to surface. Ethan is a man of action who constantly uses his adventurous streak to help other in disaster situations. This 'hands on' help is a kick back to his childhood and parents who were money rich but emotionally poor when it came to their offspring.

The romance is tender and charming and as it progresses you realise the lovers have more in common than fiery passion. The ending is poignant as befits such an engaging romantic story.

I received a copy from Harper Impulse via NetGalley in return for an honest review.

Loved this.

I warmed to 'Her Best Laid Plans' from the first page. The dynamic between Amanda and Jared is flirty, funny and realistic.

Amanda is quirky and likeable. She survived some terrible events in her life which strengthened her character but made her understandably reticent about planning too far in to the future or taking chances which might lay her open to at best disappointment at worse emotional pain. Jared has been a major positive focus in her life since her brother's accident. She values their friendship but secretly longs for some of the benefits so often talked about in popular culture.

Jared is successful and rich, the model employer and a great friend to siblings Mikey and Amanda. He is also guilt ridden about his friend's life changing accident and something in his past which led to estrangement from his family and him emigrating from London to New York. He likes Amanda in his life and initiates countless circumstances to have her close to him. Despite this he doesn't cross the friendship line out of respect for Amanda and her brother or at least that what he tells himself.

When a ghost from his past invades his new life he calls Amanda again. Something changes the dynamic between them at that fateful meeting and when Jared offers Amanda a job with him in London she takes a risk.

The build up of sexual tension between Amanda and Jared is delicious. The boardroom scene made me cry with laughter. Humour balances the angst which gives the story its edge. Both Amanda and Jared are emotionally damaged by their past. Can they overcome their inner barriers and find love?

Her Best Laid Plans' is witty, humorous, sensual, romantic much too good to put down. Find yourself a couple of hours and enjoy Amanda and Jared falling in love.
