Isabel Dick was born in Tasmania, an island state of Australia, and wrote 25 books set there. They included The Veil of Discretion (1920), Huon Belle (1930), Wild Orchard (1945), an historical novel, and Country Heart (1946). Her book Garden Peace and Christmas Tales (1927) combined verse and prose.
