DiCristino, Donato (Pen Name: Donato) is an Italian-American author of several works of poetry/prose.
Born in South Philadelphia, PA, Donato began writing poetry at the age of 19.
At 23 years old, after the death of his maternal Grandmother, he compiled and published his first compilation of poetry entitled The Threads of Life (

In December of 2008, Donato published the long-awaited follow-up to The Threads Of Life. The book was written over a period of two years and discusses several topics, mainly unrequited love and spiritual growth. The book's title (Louder Than Bombs) was inspired by a 1980's Greatest Hits compilation by punk band The Smiths.
In September of 2009, Donato decided to release the middle section of his soon-to-be released Memoir and see what kind of reaction it would receive. The Dragon's Tongue is a limited edition and discusses the author's deeper understanding of addiction. It's cover caused a bit of controversy due to the extreme close-up of Donato holding what appears to be a real gun. To this day he insists the gun is fake.
In August of 2010, Donato's long-awaited metaphorical memoir, Saving The Liar (Colors Reflected), was finally published. Seven years in the making, "Saving The Liar was written from personal experience but narrated in poetry with metaphoric undertones. Because there is no one or nothing specific actually referenced in the book, the reader is given a unique opportunity; the gift of choice. The book is divided into four sections with each section taking you into a different direction. First we go West in search of gold. Out West I examine the harsh reality experienced through unrequited love. After the heartbreak we head East to examine ourselves. There we discover a nest of undesirable feelings we either don't know exist or flat-out ignore. Stumbling South is exactly as it sounds. I use this section to explore society and the effects it has in our lives. Finally, we head North to discover the silver lining that exists within all of us. Saving The Liar is a one of a kind story. Deep but to the point." --The Author--
