Short biography
Caroline Eliacheff, the daughter of film producer Anatole Eliacheff and his wife Françoise Giroud, journalist, author, and Minister of Culture, left home at age 14 to live with French actor/director Robert Hossein. They married a year later and had a son, Nicolas Eliacheff, who changed his name to Aaron Eliacheff and became a rabbi and Talmudic scholar. She became a well-known psychoanalyst and child psychiatrist. She has also written several screenplays for director Claude Chabrol and a weekly column on French culture. After divorcing Hossein, she married film producer Marin Karmitz, with whom she had three sons, including producer and actor Nathanaël Karmitz.
