Mary Frances Tate always was a pasionate of the romance and the indian legacy. She lives in Tuston, Arizona, USA, and occasionally teaches writing at Pinna Community College in Tuston.

Mary started writing romance novels for Dell under the pseudonym of Tate McKenna from 1982 to 1987, and since 1988, she uses her real name: Mary Tate Engels. She also wrote in collaboration with the Arizona romance writer Vicki Lewis Thompson, under the pseudonyms Cory Kenyon and Corey Keaton. In addition to her romance novels, she has contributed as an author and editor to Tales from Wide Ruins, the memoirs of traders Jean and Bill Cousins, and wrote a hispanic cooking book with Madeline Gallego Thorpe. She is Charter member RWA; member PAN; member PASIC; member Saguaro RWA - Tucson Chapter; member Society of Southwestern Authors, Tucson.
