Charlie, a gentleman thief to rival Cary Grant in “To Catch a Thief,” gallivants around Venice in the next caper in this “sparkling”* series. After a particularly bad streak of luck in Vegas, Charlie has retreated to Venice, having vowed to give up a life of crime to write crime fiction full-time. But inspiration has yet to strike. And to make matters worse, Charlie’s agent Victoria shows up at his door just as his prized first edition of The Maltese Falcon flies out the window with a femme-fatale burglar. Blackmailed into committing a dastardly crime in order to get his book back, Charlie is catapulted into yet another adventure, this one even more explosive than the last. Chris Ewan was born in Taunton in 1976. He is the author of the Good Thief's Guide series of mystery novels about crime writer and professional burglar-for-hire Charlie Howard. His first novel, THE GOOD THIEF'S GUIDE TO AMSTERDAM, won the Long Barn Books First Novel Award, run by the author Susan Hill. Both AMSTERDAM and THE GOOD THIEF'S GUIDE TO PARIS have been shortlisted for CrimeFest's Last Laugh Award. Chris carried out part of the research for THE GOOD THIEF'S GUIDE TO VEGAS while on honeymoon in Sin City. He lives in a small village in the Isle of Man with his wife, Jo, and their labrador, Maisie, where he spends his days planning imaginary burglaries and learning how to pick locks. His neighbours are thrilled. (aripoisonedpen)
