Ernest Hemmingway and Michigan’s Little Traverse Bay region both came of age at the same time. Using photographs from Hemingway’s family’s collection, this presentation explores the region’s development and the family’s experience there as summer residents. It also looks at the influence Michigan had on Ernest Hemingway as a person and author. Author Michael R. Federspiel’s new book, Picturing Hemingway’s Michigan, traces the many connections between the area and Hemingway’s body of work. A book signing will follow the presentation. Free and open to the public. (abridle)
