Short biography
As a historian he has shown himself, both in Italy and abroad, as a specialist in 17th century painting and in particular of the work of Luca Giordano, of which he was the most authoritative scholar. In addition to numerous articles and monographs on Giordano, Ferrari has also published fundamental academic essays such as Figurative Arts in Campania 'from Mini-era to the' Baroque and Italian Bozzetti from Mannerism to the Baroque, as well as an investigation on the images of the philosophers in seventeenth century painting. He was also an author attentive to popularization, as evidenced by the books Bernini (Giunti), Ribeira (Giunti), written with Nicola Spinosa, and Luca Giordano. The complete work (Electa), written together with Giuseppe Scavizzi.
