Eva Gabrielsson and Stieg Larsson met in 1972, when they were both eighteen, and lived and wrote together from 1974 until his death in 2004. Their struggle together for social justice was the basis for the books in Larsson’s Millennium Trilogy.
Gabrielsson’s book serves as witness, through a series of short vignettes, to Eva and Stieg’s romance and partnership. We learn about his work struggles, his passion for fighting the injustices of the world, and the successful rise of his novels, which he didn’t get to live to see. Ultimately, it is a poignant account of two soulmates and the life they shared, with deep insight into the man everyone wants to know better, about whom so little is known.
