2809 Essays on the History of American Foreign Relations, edited by Lawrence E. Gelfand (read 12 Dec 1995) This is a collection of interesting articles compiled in 1972 Especially I liked a 1951 article by Selig Adler on"The War-Guilt Question and American Disillusionment, 1918-1928" which surveys books on World War One guilt up thru 1928, generally in a way I agree with. Many of the articles I agreed with. The last article was a 1968 article on "The Stakes in Vietnam." Though I tended to be for the war in Vietnam up till 1968, this article was not very persuasive for what we had at stake. Lots of good stuff in this book, which I bought at a rummage sale for a nickel--money well spent!… (more)
