Short biography
Full name Stéphanie-Félicité Ducrest de Saint-Aubin, comtesse de Genlis. Madame de Genlis was a prolific writer and the childhood governess of King Louis-Philippe. Her adopted daughter Pamela Sims (Syms) is believed by many to have been her biological child with Philippe Égalité, duc d'Orleans. Madame de Genlis received a pension from the Emperor Napoleon I and some believe she acted as a spy for him.
