I received a copy of Psyche's Prophecy by Ann Gimpel in exchange for my honest review. Lara McInnis seems like an everyday, ordinary psychologist until she decides to marriage counsel a couple, trouble begins. Apparently, the husband didn't appreciate the advice she gave his wife and now he's out to get her. Then Lara begins having a bizarre dream, as she, her fiance and some of her student experience the dream and try to decode it, They come to the only feasible conclusion they see...the end of the world. As Lara strengthens her psychic capabilities, she also learns of something else, the dark side knows she's coming! This was book 1 in the Transformation Series, I look forward to book 2 to see what Ms. Gimpel does with her intriguing characters.… (more)

A wonderful new take on the paranormal genre. While on duty as a paramedic EMT, niall and his partner are called to a massive and strange multi car crash. Out of nowhere a dense fog emerged, causing all the cars to lose visibility and crash. Even after calling in other am glances to assist, not everyone survived. No all managed to use his jaguar shifter magic and strength to get some out of their crushed cars. Both he and his jaguar side knew this was NOT natural. For some reason he could scent shifters with vampires....that's like a dog mating with a cat....just NOT done. After dropping his partner off at home, he was determined to follow the scent. Little did he know he'd soon find his mate. At the same time he'd learn the old war from centuries ago may have reignited as it seems the Mages and Vamps have joined forces. Following the scent, Niall discovers two shifters a wolf female and a male cat with vampires....he didn't think they were aligned with the evil creatures...but he needed to find out if they were under thrall or not. After helping end the vile vampires he quickly learns Sarai, the gorgeous redheaded wolf and her uncle Stephan had been taken unaware on their ranch. Her aunt had been murdered and left behind in the process. Joining together the trio decide to find a way to end this evil from spreading....along the way, Niall and Sarai discover their meeting was divined b the stars. A wonderful introduction to a new world with oh so many future avenes.I for one LOVE how spunky and independent Sarai forces centuries old Niall to wake up and change his archaic way of thinking once in a while. Once more we see shifters and mages team up against their common enemy....the vampires. Unknown to most however is that a faction of mages have sided with the vampires. Whether forcibly or of their own accord, these mages are amping up the power within these evil beings. Strange things are happening in the magical community...boundaries being torn apart through magic, some meeting out of the blue....and now a destined pair of schoolmates written in the stars.
