Short biography
Vincent van Gogh's finest works are considered to be those produced in the last three years of his life. He created a technique that grew more and more impassioned in brushstroke, color, surface tension, and movement and vibration of form and line. Between November 1881 and July 1890, he painted almost 900 works but sold only one in his lifetime. Since his death, however, he has become one of the most famous and popular painters in the world.
