Dale Gottlieb is an American children's author and artist. She was born in Brooklyn, New York, and was educated at the School of Art and Design at Alfred University. Her work is influenced by primitive art, appearing naive, yet dealing "with complex emotions and issues concerning humanity." She has written and/or illustrated over twenty-five books for young people, and has exhibited her artwork in shows across the USA, and internationally. Her illustrations have also been published in magazines and newspapers, ranging from The New York Times to Sports Illustrated.
