I like this series. This wasn't my favorite in the series but I still like the characters and the relationship between Gerry Porter and her granddaughter. I'll keep reading this series, it is a lot of fun.

I'm still enjoying this series. This time Gerry, granddaughter Maddie and nephew Skip are trying to find out who killed the football star (of 30 years ago), and why. One of the "stars" classmates is the main suspect and she is also part of Gerrie's miniature group and a good friend.

There are plenty of twists and turns and suspects in this one. Lots of fun following the trails that Gerrie is following in her head while trying to keep Skip guessing and Maddie safe.

I'll still be reading this series.… (more)

Still enjoying this series. Gerry and her granddaughter Maddy are busy enjoying time together. They are working on miniature houses and gifts for Halloween. When they take some time to visit the "ritzy" subdivision with all the fancy Halloween decorations they are shocked when some local teens discover that a scarecrow display has been turned into a murder scene.

When the murdered man turns out to be a building inspector, who is hunting down anyone tied to cheating the system by fair means or fowl, Gerry is concerned when her late husbands name come up in the investigation which also leads to another mystery surrounding her husband.

Maddy is still fascinated with police work and gets involved in this tale through her expertise in computers which she is honing each summer at computer camps.

My only concern about the book is the fact that Gerry put herself in danger a couple of times, both of which (I thought) were entirely unnecessary. Her nephew is a cop, she could wait for him or ask him along and he would be happy to work with her on her "investigations".

Still, I love Gerry and Maddy and can't wait to read the next in the series.

I enjoyed this first in a series. Geraldine (Gerry) is a fun character, has deep feelings for her friends and family and gets involved in a murder (or two) through no fault of her own. The descriptions of how she and her friends design and build miniature houses and rooms is fascinating. I don't have the patience to even attempt doing it but have an admiration for those who can do that kind of detailed work.

It was a good mystery (I sorta guessed "who dunnit") and I liked the characters so I'll be reading more in this series.… (more)
