Flyover States (Red Dress Ink) by Grace Grant
This is an incredible, light, funny book about grad school and especially grad school in southern Indiana for two women, one from Brooklyn and one from Los Angeles, who find each other and become best friends in the process of surviving a MFA and a PhD in English lit. I would recommend for every person who has ever thought about going to grad school, who has survived the experience, who might sometime want to go to grad school. I'd rank the writing up with Janet Evonovich although this one has no dead bodies in it.
I just finished the followup -- [Eye to Eye] and can't wait for book three.… (more)
