Gunn wrote this volume to make people aware of the contribution Collishaw made to the WW I air war and later during the ill fated British involvement in Russia following the war. Collishaw also was involved in the British creation of Iraq especially in the subduing of the Kurds. He also continued in the RAF until retiring in 1943. He lead the RAF in Egypt and Libya during the early years of the war helping in the defeat of Italy during that country's attempt to capture Egypt.

I learned much about this man who was the third highest scoring Allied ace in WW I. Unfortunately this title could have used tighter editing. Some information is given than once and there are enough typos to make the reader reread some sentences to be sure of the meaning. Still Gunn's effort is appreciated.… (more)
