A well-written if not intensely brutal novella about contemporary piracy in the Caribbean Sea. This work illustrates modern piracy pretty accurately, but the book may have a smaller audience due to the graphic violence included. Not what I expected at all (I was thinking it was going to be more lighthearted); however, it was still a good story.

I was not a fan of this book at all. It is very graphic and sad. Two girls tied to the mast and drown! I am sure some people will enjoy this kind of writing but for me it was a no. I gave it two stars because I think if this is your style you’ll like it. It’s a very short book over 200 pages.
