After reading the first story, I thought this was going to be a trial reading it. However, the second effort was riveting probably because it was not the usual "guts and glory" Marine tale. The Marine in this chapter ended up in Vietnam after an amazing successful career as an officer and instructor. However, he did not believe in the Vietnam action and requested he be assigned to the Civic Action Program which he was. But circumstances changed and he ended up in a combat unit.
